"Gingerbread House & Landscape Inhaler"


A building from the 1950’s, originating in the style of an old picturesque farmhouse, should be adapted to the desires of the new inhabitants and be extended. Since the property is located in the country scape (Freiland) of Graz, we were allowed to exactly double the existing living space in m2 from the old house.

Therefore, to the romantic introverted farmhouse - the so called Gingerbread House - an extroverted Landscape Inhaler was added , Two very different living conditions could be created.

Within the Landscape Inhaler, the existing landscape replaces the landscape paintings on the walls. Depending on the season and the time of day, the existing landscape transforms the all around glas-walls (half part) and the "no-walls" (other half part) into different moods of images again and again.
