The
Green Zero Energy Building – in China also called
"The ECO
Building" – is the new corporate Headquarters from Suntech Ltd.
in Wuxi.
The new production hall is attached to the existing one. With its four floors the new hall form a compact structure.

Head:
The office building
and the recreation center are built out of single storey organic stratums,
which grow out of the new production hall in the south. The plan of each stratum,
each floor, depends on different requirements concerning structure and surface
of the offices, different needs of light as well as on the recreation program.

Skin:
The
head with its kind of floating rooms cannot exist without any additional energy
regulating measures. Therefore, it is surrounded by an „oxygen mask“.
This additional cover made of glass surrounds both, the office building and
the recreation center, and uses to full capacity the maximum volume of the
building site.
A second skin (green skin) covers the building: In the south a large solarpower station collects the energy from the sun. In 2009 it was the largest on-grid photovoltaic facade worldwide.
